Storytelling Strands are designs made with
refreshing and nourishing elements from Mother Earth.
I see ideas for designs through the beauty of a hike in the mountains, a walk with my dog on a greenbelt trail, or a run on a marathon course anywhere in the country. My heart feels a deep connection to earth when I work with the vast array of shapes, colors, textures, and patterns that nature creates. I try to create meaningful jewelry pieces and I believe that stones can be healing, since they have their own history and story to tell.
I think every piece of jewelry is a delight to create.
Having previously worked for over 25 years in the corporate world, my brain was always working with numbers. My passion for making jewelry evolved from a lifelong interest in art and design. My three greatest influences are my family members. My husband is a business owner; our oldest daughter is an accomplished Artist and our youngest daughter graduated with a degree in Geology. Rocks, stones, and gems were collected on family trips around the world. Creating jewelry from these items was always a passion and has grown into something more than just a hobby.
Storytelling Strands became an "official" business on December 15, 2012, honoring the anniversary of our son's birthday. He died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome but I am grateful to be able to donate a portion of the net proceeds from jewelry sales each year to local and national SIDS foundations and awareness groups. Thank you for taking the time to browse my collections.
